Hi, I’m Ella!
When I’m not writing about Liverpool and The Beatles, you’ll find me… Well, to be honest, that’s usually what I’m doing!
I grew up just 45 minutes away from Liverpool, and, as a kid, I had no idea how lucky I was. Little did I know, people would travel thousands of miles, from all over the world, to visit this city!
My view soon changed. In my early teen years, my dad introduced me to The Beatles – and the rest is history. Within just a few hours, I became a full-blown, scream-at-the-top-of-my-lungs, might-faint-any-moment Beatlemaniac!
Then, my hometown suddenly seemed much cooler, because it meant I could pop into Liverpool to check out its bazillion Beatles attractions whenever I fancied!
Most people celebrate birthdays with cake and candles; but, for me, I seem to always choose Liverpool. I spent my 18th, 21st, and 25th birthdays doing Beatles-related activities like visiting Paul and John’s childhood homes, having Beatles afternoon tea, and staying at the Beatles hotel.
Is it even my birthday if I’m not spending it doing Beatles things in Liverpool???
Life took me to London at 21, where I lived for four years, using it as a base to travel all over the world whilst I worked on finishing my law qualifications.
I worked as a trainee pensions solicitor by day, and, by night, I was either devouring every Beatles book and documentary I could get my hands on, or working my butt off on this travel blog.
I originally started this blog to be just about ~travel~ in general (I’ve been to over 35 countries, mostly as a solo female traveller) but I felt like “Jack of all trades, master of none“.
I knew it was time to niche down and become an “expert” on something.
The only question was… What?
Midway through watching the eight-hour Beatles Get Back documentary with my dad (see what I mean about us being hardcore fans?) the answer came to me: nobody was blogging about Beatles tourism in Liverpool, and I knew A. LOT. about it. I’ve been there and bought the T-Shirt.
I’d found my niche.
By 2022, with a full qualification to practice law in my pocket, I faced a crossroads. Make my family proud and set up shop in the courtroom, or delve head-first into making this blog the most helpful, informative, and detailed resource on the internet for Beatles travel in Liverpool?
I’m sure you can guess the answer!
This blog has been my full-time job ever since, and I balance my time between my hometown and somewhere sunny. When I’m at home, I’ll take a bunch of trips to Liverpool to gain knowledge, snap photos, and try out tours and activities that I can write about.
Then, I’ll jet off to somewhere warm (like Canggu, Bali – where I’m writing this from!) to live as a digital nomad, get my head down, and catch up on writing for a few months before coming home and repeating the process all over again.
It’s the best of both worlds!
So, whether you’re a Beatles superfan, or you’re just interested in visiting Liverpool, stick around. I’ve got a whole host of useful information to help you plan your trip and learn more lesser-known facts about The Beatles.
Let’s make your dream trip to Liverpool a reality!

Aw thanks for the lovely comment Debbie, glad you’ve enjoyed my blog so far!
Visiting Lisbon for 4 nights next week and remembered the huge waves in Nazare, your information has been most helpful regarding transport so may try the bus or tour.
Many thanks Rich
I’m glad the post was helpful Rich! The bus is a great option if you’re looking to spend the entire day in Nazare however, since it’s winter, I would probably recommend the tour instead because it won’t really be sunbathing weather! That way, you’ll get to visit a few different attractions in one day. Have a great trip!
Hi Ella,I think it was a very courageous thing to do alone and possibly a real experience ,you seem to be having a good time as well as giving solo people ideas on where to go to enjoy some culture, thank you for sharing pictures x
Thanks Steven!
