Calling all London foodies! If you’re looking for the best brunch spots in King’s Cross, you’ve come to the right place.
The King’s Cross neighbourhood of London sees thousands of visitors every single day thanks to the huge train station there, but, despite this, not too many people decide to linger here.
In my opinion, that’s a grave mistake – King’s Cross is home to loads of epic brunch and breakfast places. If you feel like partying, there are even a few bottomless brunch spots in King’s Cross!
So, whether you’re a King’s Cross local or just passing through to catch a train, I recommend paying a visit to one of the wonderful brunch places on this list.
Let’s get started!
Best Brunch and Breakfast Spots in King’s Cross
1. Caravan King’s Cross
This London brunch chain is a hit every time and is one of the best places to get brunch in King’s Cross.
At Caravan, you’ll find innovative brunch dishes inspired by the travels of the owners. So, if you’re in the mood for brunch with an international twist, look no further.
There’s a separate menu for both breakfast and brunch at Caravan, with brunch only available on weekends, so what you’ll get to eat totally depends on the day of the week you visit.
Their brunch menu is huge, featuring everything from cereals and fruit and eggs on toast to lamb meatballs, jalapeno cornbread and The Fry – Caravan’s answer to the Full English Breakfast.
The breakfast menu at Caravan King’s Cross is pretty similar to their brunch one, but with some lighter options and a wider range of juices and kombuchas.
Bottomless brunch is available with unlimited Prosecco, beer or soft drinks for 90 minutes.
Opening times: Brunch is served at Caravan King’s Cross 9am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast is served on weekdays from 8am, with the last sitting for breakfast at 11.15am.
2. Granger & Co.
You’ll feel worlds away from London when you step inside Australian-inspired Granger & Co in King’s Cross.
With a menu that combines Australian and British flavours, having breakfast or brunch here transports you right onto the shores of Bondi Beach. Having brunch here is the easiest way to have a holiday from London without travelling anywhere!
Of course, this is an Australian-inspired restaurant, so avo-toast is one of the top dishes on the brunch menu here! For those feeling slightly more adventurous, though, you have plenty of inventive and exciting options.
Their grilled cheese and kimchi open sandwich, for example, is to die for!
The restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere is designed to convey the essence of the word “Australian” – sunny, easy-going and generous. The light and airy decor only add to this feeling!
Granger & Co Kings’ Cross don’t take bookings for brunch, but the wait for a table is never too long.
Opening times: Granger & Co is open all day, but breakfast is served from 7am-12pm Monday-Saturday and 8am-12pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
3. Half Cup
Half Cup in King’s Cross is a family-run coffee shop where brunch is the priority! Well, sustainable brunch, anyway.
Half Cup uses local suppliers and locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible, as well as compostable products. All baked goods and brunch is made in-house!
As well as the brunch classics, you’ll find a range of fun twists on classic dishes on the menu here. Caramelised banana porridge is a must-try, but with their apple crumble granola and oreo french toast also on the menu, it’s tricky to choose just one dish!
Half Cup does savoury brunch dishes just as well as the sweet selection. The BBQ pulled pork brioche, butternut squash and feta pancakes, or croque monsieur all make very tempting options for a delicious breakfast in King’s Cross.
Opening times: Brunch at Half Cup is served from 8am-3.30pm on weekdays and 9am-3.30pm on weekends.
4. Dishoom
Dishoom is a beloved Indian chain across the UK, and their King’s Cross branch is a huge hit with Londoners. I know what you’re thinking – Indian food isn’t what you would typically expect from breakfast in London, but prepare to be pleasantly surprised!
Dishoom’s King’s Cross breakfast menu features dishes such as their bacon naan roll, and Kejriwal – two fried eggs served on chilli-cheese toast! If you have a sweet tooth don’t worry, you have options too.
One of Dishoom’s biggest breakfast hits is their Sweet Uttapam Stack, their take on pancakes, topped with sweet yoghurt, berries, coconut flakes and syrup.
Dishoom is one of the best brunch spots for vegans in King’s Cross, with plenty of vegan-friendly options including the vegan sausage naan roll and the Vegan Bombay, consisting of Tofu, vegan sausages, vegan black pudding, grilled mushrooms, masala beans, and grilled tomato. Yum!
You can’t book tables in advance at Dishoom, so you’ll need to either get there early or queue. The queueing is made more bearable, though, thanks to the steaming cups of chai tea they hand out as you wait.
Opening times: Dishoom is open all day, but breakfast is only served from 8am-11.45am Monday-Friday and 9am-11:45am on Saturdays and Sundays.
5. German Gymnasium
German-style brunch? In London??
Yup, this is definitely one of the most unique brunch spots in King’s Cross, or maybe even the whole of London, but enjoying breakfast at the German Gymnasium is the perfect treat if you have a few hours to spend at King’s Cross Station before your train.
After all, the restaurant is conveniently located inside the station!
The hit breakfast dish here is the Bavarian Morning, two poached German sausages served with parsley, mustard and a pretzel.
Other German-themed breakfast dishes at the German Gymnasium include potato rösti served with two fried eggs, and the Leberkäse Breakfast, which consists of German meatloaf, fried egg and mixed leaves.
Opening times: Breakfast is served at the German Gymnasium from 8am-11:30 am Monday-Friday, and 10am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
6. Mildred’s
Vegans, delight – Mildred’s in King’s Cross is 100% plant-based, meaning you’ll be able to choose from the entire brunch menu here!
Serving up breakfast on weekdays and brunch on weekends, the menus at Mildred’s feature a range of international brunch favourites, made vegan.
If that wasn’t inclusive enough, Mildred’s also has onion-free and garlic-free menus, making it the perfect brunch spot in King’s Cross for those with dietary restrictions.

You can pair your breakfast with coffee, tea, or juices, sure. On weekends, though, you’re also able to order one of their bespoke brunch cocktails – a bellini, noughtini, or Bloody Mary.
This is one of the most popular places to get breakfast and brunch near King’s Cross station, so I recommend booking a table in advance, which you can do on their website.
Opening times: Breakfast at Mildred’s King’s Cross is served on weekdays from 9am-3pm. On weekends, brunch is served from 9am-3pm.
7. Granary Square Brasserie
Located right next to King’s Cross train station, Granary Square Brasserie is the perfect place for brunch or breakfast before catching a train.
This brasserie, which is painted blue on the inside, offers both brunch and breakfast, so the menu you get to choose from totally depends on how early you’re able to roll out of bed! Their breakfast menu largely consists of the classics – eggs benedict, breakfast pastries, and the Full English.
There are, however, some more “traditional” English breakfast options here, such as smoked salmon crumpet, and kippers served with parsley butter.
The brunch menu at Granary Square Brasserie is enormous, and is even split out into starters, mains, desserts, and even a “roast dinner” section! This is the King’s Cross brunch spot that has the widest range of dishes on offer – there’s no doubt about it.
Opening times: Breakfast is served 8:30am-11:15am Monday-Friday and 8:30am-10:45am on Saturdays and Sundays. Brunch at Granary Square Brasserie is only available on weekends and bank holidays when it’s served from 11:00am-3:45pm.

9. The Somers Town Coffee House
The Somers Town Coffee House is one of the coolest gastro pubs near King’s Cross, and the weekend brunch here is rather unique. After all, I can’t think of another brunch spot in the area with oysters on the menu!
In addition to the oysters, the brunch offering at The Somers Town Coffee House has plenty of options both small and large. Small brunch dishes include vegan corn ribs, baked chicken wings in peri peri sauce and garlic mayo, and Dorset crab served with house mayonnaise.
Feeling hungry? No worries, large plates on offer include chorizo hash, halloumi burgers, sweet French toast, a Full English, and a vegan alternative, the Full Vegan.

Obviously, it offers a Full English breakfast and Veggie Breakfast – where doesn’t? But it also serves up Greek yoghurt with honey, mixed nuts and berries and shakshuka with pitta bread. It’s fitting with the Greek theme that you’re able to order a side of halloumi with any breakfast dish!
